I hate road construction! I have a destination to reach, and road construction puts a damper on my journey. When I see that road construction sign I know what this means. In most cases, I know I will have delays, and I will not arrive at my destination at the desired time. I also realize that other drivers are frustrated too and may become upset and do stupid things. Sometimes I know that we will be stopped altogether and the destination time is changed so much that I may have to make a change of plans for what I was hoping to accomplish that day. Then the worst – sometimes I see that dreadful “DETOUR” sign. It is then that I realize I have to find a new route – a new direction. I will have to travel unfamiliar territory, watching with extreme focus so I don’t miss the detour signs that will lead me to my destination. I often fear that I won’t reach my destination because I will have taken a wrong turn. Many times there are more twists and turns on the new route. Will I ever get there?
With our York project, it seems we are involved in “road construction.” Thursday I said we would have Plan B on the website. Well, we are in construction. So there will be delays. Our team knows our plan B. While I have laid done the roadwork, our team must put the finishing touches on the work to make sure there are no bumps along the way. We are hoping for smooth highways. So as I write this, our team is reviewing Plan B. Revisions will be made to the plan because we know people will be traveling on this detour. Probably as we continue on our journey there will be more roadblocks and construction ahead. We are working on those roads in order to provide a smooth ride for those wanting to reach a determined destination.
Bear with us as we are involved in this construction. Check our website regularly for updates on road openings. I hate road construction, but also realize the necessity in improving the roadways. I see the sign ahead – “Road Construction.”
